- You can get more help to make the most of your NDIS plan at a plan implementation meeting.
We know the more time a participant spends in the Scheme, the more confident they are to use their plans. We see participants who are on the 3rd, 4th or 5th plan use more of their total budget amount than participants on their 1st or 2nd plan.
We know that when a participant is confident to use their plan, they make the most of their funded NDIS supports to pursue their goals. One way we are helping participants to do this is with a plan implementation meeting.
Once your NDIS plan is approved, your NDIS partner will contact you to offer a plan implementation meeting to help you get started and make the most of your plan.
This meeting can take place face-to-face, virtually through Microsoft Teams or by phone. You can bring along a family member, friend or supporter to your plan implementation meeting.
If you are comfortable implementing your plan yourself, or with your support coordinator, you do not have to have a plan implementation meeting.
New participants
If you are a new participant, we encourage you to have a plan implementation meeting. At your plan implementation meeting, you can learn how to:
- Use your plan.
- Find and use our online tools and resources.
- Find and record providers for your plan and make service agreements.
- Make the most of community and other mainstream services in your area.
- Use the my NDIS participant portal and app.
- Make claims in the my NDIS participant portal and app to pay for your NDIS supports.
We will record your plan implementation discussion in our new computer system.
This is sent to you if you request it. You can ask your my NDIS contact to send this to you.
Existing participants
Even if you’ve been a NDIS participant for a while, you can still have a plan implementation meeting. You can have a plan implementation meeting when you get a new NDIS plan or if your current NDIS plan is changed.
You can also get in touch with us at any time and let us know you’d like some extra support to use your plan. We’ll ask your NDIS partner to contact you and arrange a plan implementation meeting.
If you’ve asked for changes to your NDIS plan, and these changes have not been approved, we will offer you a plan implementation meeting. This is a chance to work with your NDIS partner and discuss how you can make the NDIS supports in your plan work better together, to make the most of your plan.
